MEET OUR HEAD INSTRUCTOR:
Sabum Kimberly Tanny is the owner and Head Instructor at Tanny Academy of Martial Arts. She is a 4th Degree Black Belt and certified International Instructor under the International Taekwon-do Federation. Sabum Tanny teaches our Taekwon-do classes from our littlest martial artists to our adults. She also teaches the fitness kickboxing classes.
Sabum Tanny first started her martial arts training in a semester long, martial arts based self defense course in 2001. She began her training in Taekwon-do in April 2002. She earned her 1st and 2nd degree black belts at Tran's Martial Arts and in August 2009, she founded Tanny Academy of Martial Arts (TAMA).
TAMA joined the Colorado International Taekwon-do under Master Roberto Roena in December 2010 and began its transition into an official ITF Taekwon-do dojang. Sabum Tanny earned her 3rd Dan Black Belt in June 2011 and her 4th Dan Black Belt as an International Instructor in November 2014.
She has over 15 years of experience training in the martial arts. While her focus has been traditional Taekwon-do, she has also trained in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kendo as well as martial arts weaponry and extreme martial arts.
Sabum Tanny has competed locally in the Denver/Aurora area, nationally and internationally. She is a multiple-time Colorado and Texas state champion in Patterns, Sparring and Breaking. She is a Team USA member and competed at the 2017 ITF World Championships in Dublin, Ireland in October 2017.
The most rewarding thing about teaching martial arts is the positive impact that it makes on students, both young and old.
